The Pakistani transport and logistics company TCS plans to establish cargo air services between Tashkent and Karachi, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs publication Dunyo.
In January, Uzbekistan's Ambassador Alisher Tukhtaev discussed trade relations between the two countries, delivery mechanisms, and the utilization of the transport and transit potential of both nations with TCS CEO Khalid Awan.
TCS expressed its readiness to create opportunities for transporting perishable goods and to strengthen ties with Uzbekistan in the tourism sector.
Additionally, the Uzbek ambassador held talks with Zubair Motiwal, head of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), regarding new directions for increasing mutual trade. The parties agreed to establish connections between trading houses and create an online platform with information about all types of products from both countries.
Moreover, an agreement was reached to exchange information regarding the dates of international exhibitions and fairs organized in both countries, as well as close cooperation in the participation of delegations, producers, and entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
Representatives of TDAP also shared their proposals for establishing air services on the route Tashkent - Karachi.
Starting from November 29, the national airline Uzbekistan Airways resumed regular flights from Tashkent to Lahore, the second-largest city in Pakistan. Flights are conducted once a week on Fridays.
