The Supreme Court declared the contract between the Hokimiyat of the Navoi region and the private waste management company "Berezhlivost" invalid, as reported by the Ministry of Ecology's press service.
The corresponding decision was made on January 31 due to "inadequate service by the company." As a result, the company lost its right to provide waste collection services in the city of Navoi, as well as in the Karmaninskiy and Zarafshanskiy districts.
Contract No. 2 for waste collection services in the regional center and Karmaninskiy district under a public-private partnership was signed in January 2019. At that time, the company also entered into an additional agreement No. 1 for services in Zarafshan.
The appellate court is reviewing a lawsuit to annul a similar contract for the Kyzyltepa, Tamdy, and Uchquduq districts. This contract was made between "Berezhlivost," the Hokimiyat, and the regional ecology department.
The ministry reminded that waste management companies are responsible for providing quality services. Citizens were advised to submit complaints and suggestions regarding waste management to the Circular Economy Agency via the short number 1205.
Earlier, Spot reported that waste collection fees had increased in the Tashkent and Surkhandarya regions.
