The price of AI-80 gasoline at Carvon gas stations (formerly UNG Petro) has risen to 8150 sums per liter. This was reported by relevant Telegram channels and media outlets, including "Gazeta.uz" and Kun.uz.

According to Autostrada, starting from January 1, the price of AI-80 gasoline at Carvon stations, which was previously sold below market rates, increased by 18% — from 6900 to 8150 sums per liter. At other gas stations, fuel prices have remained stable, with AI-80 gasoline costing between 8400 and 9000 sums per liter.

The Telegram channel "Drivers of Tashkent" published prices, allegedly from one of the Carvon (UNG Petro) stations: AI-80 costs 8150 sums, AI-92 is 10,700 sums, and AI-95 is 12,800 sums.

At the end of December, "Uzbekneftegaz" announced that starting January 1, 2025, gasoline and other petroleum products produced by the Bukhara Oil Refinery will only be sold through exchange trading. However, according to the presidential decree, the first working day of UzRTSB this year is January 3.

According to data from the commodity exchange, on December 26, the price of AI-80 gasoline was 9.31 million sums per ton (excluding VAT). During the peaks in November, the price exceeded 10 million sums, but after the Competition Committee imposed a price ceiling, it dropped to permissible levels.

In 2024, according to the Statistical Agency's calculations, gasoline prices in Uzbekistan increased by 5.9%. Starting January 1 of last year, the price of AI-80 gasoline at UNG Petro stations, which were then owned by "Uzbekneftegaz," rose to 6800 sums. Thus, over the year, fuel prices increased by at least 19.8%.

Privatization of UNG Petro

In March, it was reported that the network of UNG Petro gas stations, previously owned by "Uzbekneftegaz," has changed ownership: 100% of the authorized capital of UNG Petro now belongs to Petroleum Technology Group.

The owner of 99% of the company is Daniyar Kamilov, son of the Secretary of the Security Council and former Minister of Foreign Affairs Abduaziz Kamilov. The remaining 1% is owned by Delta Global Dynamics, which is fully owned by Kamilov.

Later, from the annual report of "Uzbekneftegaz," it became known that the state company sold the Chinaz Oil Refinery and the UNG Petro gas station network for 453 billion sums. Reports about the sale of UNG Petro and the Chinaz Oil Refinery were not published anywhere, and the Agency for State Asset Management did not respond to Spot's inquiries.

In November, the network of gas stations that previously operated under the UNG Petro brand was officially renamed Carvon. However, the renaming and rebranding process will take place gradually. Future plans include the reconstruction of existing stations and the construction of new ones.

Earlier, Spot reported that "Uzenergoinspektsiya" suspended 17 gas stations from selling gasoline due to violations.
