Such data was provided on February 3 by the press service of the President of Uzbekistan. It was reported that on Monday, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the report on major transport infrastructure projects.

It was noted that in response to the growing needs of the population and the economy, the country's transport network is consistently evolving. According to the presidential decree from October 10, 2023, the road sector has been improved, which has allowed for an expansion in the scale of road construction, repair, and maintenance.

Recently, an international tender was announced for one of the projects - the alternative route from Tashkent to Andijan - which has attracted interest from many leading foreign companies. Proposals for this project were discussed during the meeting.

The Ministry of Transport has been tasked with the construction of alternative highways and other congested routes, enhancing road convenience and safety, and organizing various paid services.

The President was also presented with information about the project to create a dry port in the Navoi region in collaboration with the Emirati company AD Ports Group.
