Cafeterias in educational institutions are set to be leased to businesses. This is outlined in a resolution issued by the Cabinet of Ministers on January 11.

The government has approved a new regulation regarding the organization of meals in schools and vocational training institutions. An electronic auction will be held on the E-auksion platform for leasing the cafeterias.

Leasing of cafeterias is permitted through a direct contract between the educational organization, the local administration of the Center for Efficient Use of State Property, and the tenant. The list of educational institutions eligible for this must be approved by the president.

To participate in the competition, an entrepreneur must have been operating in the catering sector for at least 6 months and possess the necessary equipment. Additionally, they should not have any outstanding debts related to rent or tax payments.

Leases for cafeterias in educational institutions will be concluded through the online platform online-ijara.uz. This platform will also manage the accounting of premises available for lease, indicating their location and cadastral area.

The tenant will be required to provide students with healthy meals and prohibit the sale of unhealthy food. A special commission within the educational organization will oversee the quality of the prepared dishes and the fulfillment of other requirements.

Previously, Spot reported that the catering services in state kindergartens are planned to be outsourced.
