The mobility and delivery service Bolt is exploring the possibility of opening its back office in Uzbekistan, as reported by the IT Park press service.

On January 14, the director of the technopark, Farhad Ibrahimov, met with Julia Malich, the head of Bolt's public relations and government affairs department. The discussions focused on the prospects of collaboration in the fields of mobility and support for startups.

Malich highlighted the company's interest in the Uzbekistan market and Central Asia as a whole, referring to the region as a "focal" point for the service due to demographic factors and technological development. According to her, Bolt is ready to engage in dialogue with the Ministry of Digital Technologies and other governmental bodies.

Representatives of IT Park suggested considering the possibility of opening a Bolt back office in Uzbekistan and involving local talent in software development. Ibrahimov expressed the technopark's willingness to assist in personnel selection.

Plans for conducting educational master classes were also discussed, where Bolt experts will share their experiences. It is expected that this will create new opportunities for local startups and enhance their global competitiveness.

Earlier, Spot reported that the Emirati electrical manufacturer Binghalib plans to relocate part of its business to Uzbekistan.

Bolt was established in Estonia in 2013 and operated under the name Taxify until 2019. The company's super app includes services for taxis, car-sharing, rental of personal mobility devices (electric scooters), as well as food delivery through Bolt Food.
