Kazakhstan will temporarily close two border checkpoints with Russia for reconstruction. This information comes from the press service of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan.

According to the Committee for Road Transport and Transport Control under the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan, the automobile border crossings Alimbet (with the Russian side being Orsk) and Syrym (Mashtakovo) will be closed. They are located in the West Kazakhstan and Aktobe regions, respectively.

Both checkpoints will cease operations starting February 1. The planned reconstruction work may last up to 16 months.

The Ministry of Transport in Uzbekistan has urged carriers to take this information into account when planning cargo transportation. According to data from "Rosgranstroy," border crossings Sagarchin - Zhaisan and Ilek - Aksai will remain open for transport from third countries.

The Logirus portal, referencing the government of the Orenburg region, notes that the Syrym - Mashtakovo crossing is the largest on the western section of the Russian-Kazakh border. Its daily capacity is 1,000 vehicles, while in reality, it handles 1,700−2,000 trucks per day, depending on the season.

Previously, Spot reported that Iran and Uzbekistan mutually canceled entry fees for trucks.
