The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan has published updated exchange rates for foreign currencies as of February 26, as reported by Daryo.uz with a link to the regulator's press service.
The downward trend in the dollar exchange rate has been observed since the beginning of the year. Previously, the American currency decreased by 16.27 sums, falling below the mark of 12,900 sums for the first time during this period. Since February 17, its rate has remained stable.
The Chairman of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, Timur Ishmetov, previously noted that no sharp fluctuations in the nominal exchange rate are expected in 2025. In 2024, the Uzbek sum depreciated against the dollar by 4.7%, while in 2023, the depreciation was 9.7%, and in 2022 — 3.94%.
