The leaders of the two countries discussed the further development and strengthening of the friendship and multifaceted partnership between Uzbekistan and Kuwait.
The President of Uzbekistan particularly highlighted the successful implementation of the state program "Vision 2035" in Kuwait, the goals and objectives of which resonate with the long-term priorities of the New Uzbekistan Development Strategy. The intensive political contacts and interagency exchanges, as well as the steady growth of mutual trade and investment, were noted with satisfaction. Last year, the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission was fruitfully held, along with a series of significant business events.
Special attention was given to issues of collaboration in trade-economic, investment, innovation, and financial-technical spheres. The following areas were identified as priorities for practical cooperation: "green" energy, industrial cooperation, agriculture, transport and logistics, infrastructure, urban development, healthcare, and tourism.
To promote joint projects, an agreement was reached to establish mechanisms such as the Investment Platform and Business Council, as well as to open a trade house in the city of Al-Kuwait.
Particular focus was placed on expanding the project portfolio with the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development within the framework of the new Partnership Program.
Additionally, the conduct of cross-cultural weeks in Uzbekistan and Kuwait was agreed upon, along with active support for the participation of representatives from both countries in cultural and humanitarian events in the fields of art, music, cinema, education, and sports.
During the meeting, the importance of continuing mutual support within the framework of the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Non-Aligned Movement, and other authoritative structures was emphasized.
Joint measures for the preparation and conduct of the upcoming summit in May this year in Samarkand, titled “Central Asia – Gulf Cooperation Council Dialogue,” were also discussed.
The leaders exchanged views on current aspects of the international and regional agenda.
As a result of the negotiations, the heads of the two states decided to develop and strengthen comprehensive partnership.
