As previously reported by Spot, Shavkat Mirziyoyev engaged in a dialogue with the youth regarding the creation of additional opportunities for them. During this event, the opening of "creative parks" in various regions of Uzbekistan was announced.
The president also introduced new measures to encourage the study of foreign languages. Young individuals with a C1 level or higher who establish language learning centers in remote areas will receive interest-free loans of up to 120 million sums.
Citizens studying foreign languages at private educational centers will be compensated for their expenses under the "2+6" scheme. If they pay for two months of education out of their own pockets, the following six months will be covered by the budget.
To promote the IT sector, an additional 300,000 people will be involved in the One Million Uzbek Coders project, and a feature for studying in the Uzbek language using AI translation will be created on Coursera. The goal is to achieve a twofold increase in the number of female programmers to 50,000, as well as to prepare 1,000 young women for participation in IT Olympiads.
Uzbekistan has reached an agreement with the UAE to launch the "One Million AI Users" initiative. The president called for the use of AI to identify the interests and needs of the youth and to develop a long-term strategy for creating a digital social ecosystem.
There was an emphasis on the need to provide higher education for children from low-income families. They will be offered additional grants, as well as interest-free educational loans and compensations for part of their contract payments.
Talented young individuals from families facing challenging circumstances will have the opportunity to study abroad under the "Yorqin Iste'dod" program. Each year, the program aims to select and prepare 1,000 applicants for admission to universities ranked in the top 100 globally.
Graduates returning to Uzbekistan will be included in the national personnel reserve and will be able to enter public service without a competitive process. Additionally, the number of quotas from the "El-Yurt Umidi" fund will be increased in the fields of energy, transport, architecture, urbanization, and medicine.
Young scholars under the age of 35 who have obtained a degree from leading foreign universities will receive interest-free loans of up to 800 million sums for purchasing housing. Monetary awards for winners of international subject Olympiads will be increased fivefold.
Another area of focus is the promotion of STEM disciplines. The president has tasked the establishment of engineering laboratories for the study of robotics and innovations in at least five schools in each district.
Inventor competitions in fields such as AI, robotics, cybersecurity, and drone technology will be held in 36 technical universities. The best startup projects will be given the opportunity for commercialization.
Engineering Olympiads and competitions are also planned to be organized in schools. Winners from graduating classes will have the chance to enroll in technical universities on a grant basis.
