The main time of the match ended in a draw — 3:3. The scoring was opened by Asilbek Jumayev in the 18th minute, who found the net following a corner kick. However, just eight minutes later, Shin Min-ha equalized, also capitalizing on a set piece.
In the second half, Shin Min-ha scored a brace, and Kim Tae-won increased the Koreans' lead to two goals. Nevertheless, the Uzbek team did not give up: in the 90th minute, Muhammadali Urinboev narrowed the gap, and just seconds before the final whistle, Abdugofur Haidarov leveled the score, sending the game into extra time.
During extra time, neither team managed to score, and in the penalty shootout, the South Korean players were more successful, winning 3:1.
The Republic of Korea national team will face Saudi Arabia in the semifinals on February 26.
