The Tashkent Investment Forum is anticipated to secure contracts worth $17 billion.

This year, a portfolio of contracts and agreements valued at $17 billion has been prepared for the Tashkent International Investment Forum, announced Akram Aliev, director of the Department of the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, on Wednesday.

“At the first forum in 2022, investment agreements worth $7.8 billion were signed, and at the second, we exceeded $11 billion. This year, we have formed a portfolio with investors totaling $17 billion,” he stated during a briefing.

According to Aliev, interest in the event this year is very high. “The forum will be significantly different from the previous two; we are currently taking all necessary steps to ensure this. There will also be an event dedicated to launching major projects that are crucial for our economy,” added the Ministry representative.

“Year after year, the number of participating countries in the forum continues to grow. We are witnessing progress in terms of participant representation as well: around 100 high-ranking government officials from 78 countries are expected to attend,” said Aliev.

This year, the main events of the Tashkent International Investment Forum will take place on May 2-3 at the Tashkent City Congress Hall.
