On January 15, power supply disruptions are expected in two districts of Tashkent, as reported by "Tashgorenergo."
The outages are linked to maintenance work in the power grid and the "prevention of emergency situations." The following locations will be affected:
- In the Almazar district - mahallas "Akhlil," "Achaobod," "Gulzor," "Gurucharyk," "Karasaray," "Honchorbog," "Chukursoy," "Yukori Sebzor," "Yangi Tashkent" from 9 AM to 3 PM;
- In the Bektemir district - mahallas "Musaffo," "Nurafshon," "Nurli Yul," "Sohil" from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Since the summer of 2023, the capital has been undergoing modernization of its power networks. In June of that year, the largest-scale power outages of the season were observed - for instance, on June 8, eight districts lost electricity. In August, Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced the transition of the energy sector's leadership to an emergency operating mode.
During a meeting in October 2023, the head of state instructed the development of a program for the modernization of power lines and transformers by the end of 2026. By that time, it is planned to reduce the share of electricity losses in the networks by 1.5 times.
The President reiterated the goal of eliminating emergency power outages by June 2024. An additional 14 trillion sums will be allocated for the preparation of the energy sector for the upcoming autumn-winter period.
Earlier, Spot reported that Shavkat Mirziyoyev assessed the potential of Uzbekistan's "green" energy at 610 GW.
