According to the results of 2024, Uzbekistan sold over 400,000 new cars, reported the press service of the state company "Uzavtosanoat".

From January to December of the previous year, 402,391 domestic cars were sold. The leader is UzAuto Motors, which accounted for nearly 88% of all sales. The state enterprise sold 353.73 thousand Chevrolet vehicles. Following are ADM Jizzakh (7.5%) and BYD Uzbekistan Factory (4.3%), which launched a plant in the Jizzakh region in June.

Last year, ADM Jizzakh sold over 30.3 thousand vehicles, most of which (19.4 thousand units) were from the Kia brand. In turn, BYD sold just over 17 thousand electric cars. The top five brands also included Chery (7.5 thousand cars) and Haval (3.3 thousand cars).

The remaining automakers each hold a share of 0.1%: Asaka Motors – 489 units, Jizzakh Auto – 394 units, SamAuto – 317 units.

Among the models, Chevrolet cars lead the way. The Cobalt took first place with 127.2 thousand vehicles sold. Following closely behind is the Damas, with 106 thousand units sold. Next are the Tracker (37.9 thousand cars), Onix (33.6 thousand), Labo (25.3 thousand), and Lacetti (18.3 thousand).

Also making the top 10 are the Kia Sonet (7.7 thousand cars), two BYD models – Song Plus Champion DM-i (6.4 thousand) and Chazor (4.5 thousand) – and Chery Tiggo 7 Pro (3.5 thousand).

Moreover, in 2024, over 80 thousand passenger cars were imported at a cost of $1.27 billion. Compared to 2023, the import volume in monetary terms fell by 33.2%, while the quantity decreased by 7%. For the first time, the import of electric vehicles and hybrids exceeded that of internal combustion engine cars (55.7% versus 44.2%).

If we include imports in the sales of domestic automakers, the volume of Uzbekistan's auto market last year exceeded 482 thousand vehicles (an increase of approximately 5.6%).

In 2023, the volume of the automotive market in the republic amounted to 456.34 thousand cars. Specifically, UzAuto Motors held 81% of the market, producing 369.9 thousand vehicles. ADM Jizzakh came in second with 5.5% of the market. The remaining 59.38 thousand cars were imported, including 8,948 BYD electric vehicles.
