According to the press service of the head of state, the share of this sector in the overall industrial output is 3.5 percent, while its contribution to goods exports is 10 percent. Last year, production reached 31 trillion sums, with exports totaling 1.3 billion dollars. Investments of 516 million dollars were utilized, and 85 new enterprises were launched. Today, over 27 thousand compatriots are employed in the industry.
During the video conference held on September 5 of last year, additional opportunities for enhancing efficiency in the sector were identified. Based on this, a series of tasks has been set for 2025.
During the presentation, the chairman of the "Uzelttehsanoat" association announced that this year, 290 new projects are planned to be initiated in the regions, with a total value of 4 billion dollars, aiming to attract 600 million dollars in investments and to increase the copper processing rate to 75 percent.
There is a stated need to effectively utilize localization programs. This year, investment projects worth 75 billion dollars will be implemented in the country, with a local component share of 28 billion dollars.
To expand the electrical engineering cluster, additional land plots have been allocated: 200 hectares in Akhangaran, 10 hectares in Fergana, and 4 hectares in Urgench. Infrastructure corresponding to a budget of 181 billion sums has been constructed.
Now, entrepreneurs will be allowed to build ready-made buildings on the territories of technoparks and sell them to enterprises in the electrical engineering and related sectors. Entrepreneurs who implement high-tech production are proposed to be exempt from profit tax and property tax for three years.
This will open up opportunities for launching new projects, including in the Akhangaran copper cluster amounting to 68 million dollars, as well as in Kashkadarya, Fergana, and Urgench – totaling 30 million dollars.
A guaranteed market volume of 15 trillion sums is also being created for procurement by ministries and industrial sectors. A procurement order for social facilities for renewable energy equipment from local producers is being developed.
The head of state emphasized that this sector is of particular importance for the "green" economy and sustainable development. In this regard, he instructed to make the most of all local opportunities and provide entrepreneurs with additional conditions regarding infrastructure, financing, and raw material supply.
It was noted that thanks to these measures, annual exports could reach 3 billion dollars and production volume could rise to 50 trillion sums.
