On January 16 of this year, a meeting of the Senate Committee on Science, Education, and Health was held.
During the meeting, the senators first discussed the Law on "Food Security."
It was noted that this Law is of great importance for ensuring the country's food security and for implementing systematic control in this area. The Law clarifies the essence and significance of key concepts related to food security, including "food security," "state reserve," "main types of socially significant food products," "food balance," and "food deficit."
Furthermore, it clearly establishes the mechanisms for regulating the food security sector, the powers of ministries and agencies, local executive bodies, as well as the main principles and directions of state policy in this area.
Participants noted that the practical application of the Law would contribute to comprehensive legal regulation of relations in the field of food security.
Subsequently, according to the agenda, the issue of examining the quality of medical assistance provided to children was discussed.
It was highlighted that in recent years, systematic efforts have been made in our country to protect children's health and to further improve the quality of medical assistance provided to them. The material and technical support in this area has improved, and institutions providing medical services to children are being equipped with modern technologies.
Despite this, senators pointed out that there is still work to be done in this sector, as well as existing problems and shortcomings.
Recently, there has been an increase in diseases among children, and child mortality due to various illnesses continues to be a concern.
In light of this, a working group has been established within the Committee, consisting of representatives from responsible ministries and agencies, with plans to assess the quality of medical assistance provided to children and determine measures aimed at addressing the existing issues.
During the examination of this issue, the working group members were given recommendations to focus on the implementation of existing laws, decrees, and presidential resolutions, as well as to prepare analytical data on the tasks to be studied.
At the conclusion of the meeting, decisions on the discussed matters were adopted by the Committee.
