Sergey Mironov: To effectively combat terrorism, Russia must revoke the visa-free regime with Central Asia.

According to a report from the website of the party "Just Russia – Patriots – For Truth," the leader of the party faction in the State Duma, Sergey Mironov, believes that the introduction of a visa regime with Central Asian countries will not only strengthen national security but also foster genuine mutually beneficial cooperation between the Russian Federation and its southern neighbors.

“The ‘Just Russia – Patriots – For Truth’ faction proposes a comprehensive set of measures to tighten control over migration processes, but we must start with the introduction of a visa regime with Central Asian countries. Without this, there will be no order at the border, which is currently vital to regulate migration and counter terrorist attacks!” – stated Mironov.

He also believes that the abolition of the visa-free regime should not be viewed as an unfriendly gesture towards our neighbors, and he hopes for their understanding.
