Criminal liability is being established for violations of property rights related to intellectual property objects.
This is mentioned in the draft law "On Strengthening the Protection of Intellectual Property," prepared by the Committee on Innovation Development and Information Technologies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.
The document proposes to introduce relevant changes and additions to the Criminal, Criminal Procedure, Civil Codes, as well as the Code of Administrative Offenses. The amendments focus on increasing liability for violations of copyright and related rights, as well as rights concerning industrial property objects.
In particular, the draft law provides for stricter measures of accountability for violations of personal non-property rights related to intellectual property objects. Furthermore, it proposes to introduce criminal liability for infringements of property rights associated with such objects.
Currently, the draft law is being prepared for discussion at the meetings of the factions of political parties.
