Temu is an international marketplace offering a wide range of products at low prices, including clothing, accessories, electronics,
As of now, UzPost has processed over 10 tons of orders from Temu. Deliveries are made directly to recipients, including remote areas.
Currently, the option for self-pickup from UzPost branches for Temu orders is not available; however, the company is in talks with the platform about implementing it.
Customers of the Ozon marketplace can now pick up their orders at the nearest UzPost branches, which number over 1,700 across the country. Address delivery remains available for those who prefer to receive their packages at home.
The company emphasized that collaboration with international marketplaces helps improve access to goods for residents of Uzbekistan and contributes to the development of e-commerce in the country.
Since November 2023, Ozon has launched direct sales of goods in Uzbekistan. Last October, Ozon opened its first sorting center in Tashkent and began attracting local sellers to sell on the marketplace. The company plans to open three new sorting centers in Fergana, Termez, and Bukhara, as well as increase the number of pickup points to 1,500.
New Requirements for Marketplaces
From the end of 2024, all operators of marketplaces, order aggregators, and streaming platforms must have legal entities in Uzbekistan.
Currently, according to publicly available information, the Temu platform does not have a registered legal entity in the republic.
The head of the NAPP department, Kamronbek Muhammadiev, noted in an interview with Spot that large international companies are unlikely to risk violating the law.
In case of non-compliance with these requirements, measures may be taken against such platforms, including restrictions on their activities and the blocking of services.
Previously, Spot reported on how the e-commerce market has changed and what to expect in 2025.
