The "Uzpromstroy Materials" Association has launched a trading house for products from Uzbekistan in Tajikistan. This was reported by the organization's press service to Spot.

The opening ceremony took place last week and included a series of meetings between entrepreneurs from both countries. The new trading house in Dushanbe is the association's third permanent establishment abroad, following Baku and Kabul.

The organization aims to increase the supply of building materials to Tajikistan. Currently, this market ranks second in terms of imports from Uzbekistan ($115 million), following Kazakhstan ($188 million) and surpassing Kyrgyzstan ($103 million).

In 2024, Uzbekistan exported metal structures to the Tajik market worth $34 million. The volume of plastic product supplies, including PVC profiles and pipes, amounted to $23 million, and cement and dry construction mixtures accounted for $13 million.

The revenue from the supply of ceramic products amounted to $12 million, while the revenue from chipboard and MDF tiles reached $11 million. Additionally, Uzbek producers supplied glass to the neighboring country worth $7 million.

Currently, bilateral negotiations are underway regarding the increase of exports in several other categories. These include aerated concrete blocks, thermal insulation materials, wallpaper, and natural stones.

Earlier, Spot reported that the Chinese company Shandong Weida Construction Machinery would invest $25 million in the production of building materials in Fergana.
