According to the results of 2024, tax payments from foreign IT companies increased by 1.5 times, as reported by the press service of the Tax Committee.

Tax payments from 63 foreign enterprises providing electronic services totaled 115.8 billion sums (a growth of 1.5 times) or $8.96 million based on the Central Bank's exchange rate. Notably, 99.9% of the revenue came from ten IT companies.

Moreover, the volume of services rendered grew by 1.5 times – from 635.7 to 959 billion sums. Over the year, 8 new foreign taxpayers were added.

Last year, the leader among foreign companies in terms of total taxes paid was Meta, which paid 41.7 billion sums. Google took second place with 28.9 billion sums. These two companies accounted for two-thirds of the total volume of services rendered and taxes paid.

Following closely with a slight lag is Apple (27.2 billion sums), then Amazon (4.1 billion sums) and Booking.com (3.6 billion sums).

For the first time, TikTok (903 million sums) entered the top ten large taxpayers, surpassing Yandex Europe. In October 2023, the social network, which is blocked in Uzbekistan, registered for tax purposes.

Additionally, the list was rounded out by Netflix (1.42 billion sums), Zoom (1.37 billion sums), Acca (1.2 billion sums), and Xsolla (900.3 million sums).

In 2023, foreign technology companies paid nearly 70 billion sums in taxes to the budget – a 56.2% increase compared to 2022.

Since the beginning of 2020, foreign legal entities providing services and goods in electronic form, with Uzbekistan as the place of realization, are recognized as taxpayers for such services rendered to individuals.

The Tax Committee has established an VAT office that allows foreign IT companies operating in the republic to register and pay taxes.
