Uzbekistan's military will introduce new units to combat modern threats.

В Узбекистане создадут новые военные подразделения для противодействия современным угрозам.

This is due to the widespread use of artificial intelligence, robotic systems, missiles, drones, and countermeasures in modern regional conflicts, as discussed on February 21 during a meeting focused on strengthening military security and the defense capabilities of the state, reports the press service of the President.

The meeting was attended by members of the Security Council, heads of ministries and agencies that are part of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan, military district commanders, as well as via videoconference - the chairpersons of the Jokargy Kenes and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regional and Tashkent city khokims, and other responsible officials from local authorities.

At the beginning of the meeting, measures taken to enhance the country's defense capabilities were reviewed, along with their results, and certain shortcomings in this work were identified.

It was emphasized that the creation of a new system for modernizing and equipping the army continues - the defense industry is developing, and additional enterprises have been established. The Armed Forces of Uzbekistan have established bilateral military cooperation with over 20 countries and have successfully participated in more than 400 joint exercises.

During the meeting, priority tasks for 2025 and subsequent years were outlined.

The necessity of considering modern armed conflicts, existing threats to national security, and the specifics of the theater of operations when planning the further development of the army was underscored.

The Supreme Commander-in-Chief emphasized the need for further improvement of the army's combat readiness, enhancement of combat training levels, establishment of a unified automated troop management system based on artificial intelligence technologies, as well as the introduction of dual education in military training and the preparation of military personnel.

Priority tasks for enhancing the activities of the "Corps of Senior Sergeants," which serves as the backbone of the army, further development of the defense industry, social support for military personnel and their families, and instilling a spirit of patriotism in the youth while involving them in military sports were defined.

Reports and proposals from the Minister of Defense, military district commanders, and other responsible officials were heard during the meeting.
