On January 13, power outages are scheduled in certain areas of the Bektemir district of Tashkent, as reported by "Tashgorenergo."
Interruptions may occur from 10 AM to 5 PM in the neighborhoods of "Abai," "Bektemir," "Nurafshon," "Oltintopgan," "Sohil," "Ustozlar," and "Khusain Baykaro." Planned maintenance work on the power networks will take place during this time.
Since the summer of 2023, the capital has been undergoing modernization of its electrical networks. In June of that year, the largest rolling blackouts of the season were observed—on June 8, for instance, eight districts lost power. In August, Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced the transition of energy sector management to an emergency operational mode.
During a meeting in October 2023, the head of state tasked officials with developing a modernization program for power lines and transformers by the end of 2026. By that time, it is planned to reduce energy losses in the networks by 1.5 times.
The president reiterated the goal of eliminating emergency power outages by June 2024. An additional 14 trillion sums will be allocated for the preparation of the energy sector for the upcoming autumn-winter period.
