The Competition Committee has reported the discovery of anti-competitive collusion among automotive gas filling compressor stations in the Bukhara region.
The regional supervisory authority identified a sharp increase in retail prices for compressed gas in December 2024 during monitoring activities. On December 6, the price per cubic meter of fuel was 3850 to 3950 sums, but from December 7 to 9, gas stations sold it at an 8% higher price of 4150 sums.
The agency conducted inspections to identify signs of coordinated actions at 85 gas filling stations operating in the region. The results revealed that 44 enterprises managing 47 stations "artificially inflated prices without individual economic reasons, external factors, or a need to increase costs."
The price increases occurred simultaneously or sequentially from December 5 to 13, the agency noted. A special commission initiated cases against all 44 enterprises for signs of violating the "Competition" law.
Financial penalties were imposed on the violators. They were also issued directives requiring them to rectify the violations and prevent similar situations in the future.
Earlier, Spot reported that the Competition Committee fined the water supply company Elkimyo-Suvta'minot for price inflation.
