Uzbekistan will ensure clear and consistent application of legal norms.
The law "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Connection with the Improvement of the System for Combating Economic Crimes" (No. ZRU-1038 dated February 25, 2025) has been adopted.
The law introduces amendments and additions to the Criminal Procedure Code and the Law "On Combating Corruption," which clarify the powers of the Department for Combating Economic Crimes regarding the investigation of criminal cases.
Additionally, changes are made to the Code of Administrative Responsibility and the Budget Code, which assign the powers of the State Financial Control bodies of the Ministry of Economy and Finance to the Inspection of State Financial Control of the Department for Combating Economic Crimes.
The law takes effect from the day of its official publication.
