By the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated February 1, 2025, No. 57, the Regulation on the procedure for the certification of products and services that meet the requirements of "Halal" has been approved.
The document provides for periodic evaluation of products and services certified in accordance with "Halal" requirements.
The establishment of bodies for the certification of products and services in line with "Halal" requirements is planned.
During the certification process and the determination of requirements, priority will be given to standards adopted by the Institute of Standards and Metrology of Islamic Countries (SMIIC) and officially recognized at the international level.
Starting from May 1, 2025, it is planned to label products and services certified in accordance with SMIIC requirements with the "Halal" mark.
The applicant submits an application to the certification body electronically. The certification body reviews the application and the attached documents within three working days.
Evaluation work is conducted at the production site (or service provision location) according to an evaluation program developed and approved by the head (or deputy head) of the certification body.
If doubts arise during the evaluation regarding the composition of the products manufactured or used by the applicant, samples will be taken in the presence of the applicant and tested in an accredited testing laboratory in accordance with the requirements established in regulatory documents on technical regulation and "Halal" requirements.
The document has been published in the National database of legislation in the state language and will come into force on May 2, 2025, reports "Norma".
