A National Statistics Committee is being established in Uzbekistan.

According to the Decree, the Statistical Agency under the President will be reorganized into a National Committee on Statistics.

The following priority areas for enhancing the effectiveness of statistical work have been identified, including:

• improving the system of conducting statistical surveys at both macroeconomic and sectoral levels, as well as its methodology in accordance with international standards;
• reducing statistical reports and decreasing the reporting burden on businesses by expanding integration processes;
• ensuring data reliability by establishing a system for generating statistical indicators based on the principle of “from the neighborhood to the republic.”

The information system “Regional Statistics” will be launched by the end of 2025.
