The Telegram team has released another update for the messenger.

In the new versions, the functionality of the built-in video player has been significantly expanded. Additionally, developers have introduced sticker search using artificial intelligence and curated bot suggestions.

Video Functionality

When watching videos in Telegram, the player remembers the point where the video was paused and closed. When the user reopens the video, playback will continue from the same spot.

Users can also share links to the current moment in a specific video. Previously, adding a timestamp was only possible in the video caption or in response to such a message.

To send a link, you need to click on the "Share" button in the player and check the "Start from..." option with the specified time. A parameter “?t=1m23s” will be added to the link (similar to YouTube).

The timestamped link can be sent in a Telegram chat or on another platform. The video will open in Telegram and play from the specified moment.

Furthermore, when publishing a video on a channel, users will be able to choose any image as a cover for the preview. A similar feature was previously added for video stories.

To set a cover for the video, open it in the video editor, click on the three dots, and select "Edit Cover" from the menu that appears.

Sticker Search with AI

With the new update, the intelligent sticker and emoji search feature, introduced in December, now includes user-created image sets. Previously, it only worked for official sets created by Telegram artists.

To use the feature, simply enter keywords in the search bar. The search works in 29 languages, including English and Russian.

Similar Bots

Bot profiles now feature a "Similar Bots" tab. This section displays popular services, mini-apps, and games that may interest users of a specific bot.

A similar feature was previously added for channels.

Earlier, Spot published an overview of the advertising situation in Telegram channels in Uzbekistan.
