President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited a nursery established for greening the New Tashkent area.

Президент Шавкат Мирзиёев посетил питомник, созданный для озеленения Нового Ташкента.

The symbolic first stone for the foundation of the new city was laid on March 18, 2023. During the ceremony, the head of state emphasized that New Tashkent will become a "green city," with special attention given to air and water cleanliness, the use of alternative energy sources, and the planting of a large number of trees. Here, the implementation of the "green belt" project will also begin: a Central Park will be created over an area of 420 hectares, and 200,000 trees will be planted.

Currently, a nursery is operating on a 50-hectare site, which was visited today by the President. The head of state inspected the seedlings, familiarized himself with the landscape design plans, as well as the irrigation and maintenance systems for the future green areas.

At this time, 27,000 decorative seedlings have been grown in the nursery for future transplantation. A greenhouse and a boiler room have been built, and storage and irrigation systems for planting materials have been installed.

In the new city, temporary administrative buildings are being constructed to organize the work of several ministries and agencies. The President reviewed the conditions created within them.

Currently, four buildings and auxiliary structures have been erected using lightweight materials solely produced domestically. The offices are designed in an "open space" format and can accommodate up to 250 employees each.

It is noted that this will facilitate the phased organization of the work of ministries and agencies in New Tashkent, as well as reduce traffic congestion in the capital.
