Expressing profound condolences to the leader and people of brotherly Turkey, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev wished the families and loved ones of the deceased strength and patience, and a swift recovery to the injured.

The fire broke out on the night of January 21 in a 12-story wooden hotel located at the Kartalkaya ski resort in Bolu province. The flames quickly engulfed the entire building.

According to the latest reports, 76 people have died as a result of the fire, as stated by Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, reports Haberturk. Earlier, the death toll was reported as 66, with 51 injured. Nine individuals, including the hotel owner, have been detained in connection with the fire.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan declared a one-day national mourning in response to the tragedy caused by the fire in Kartalkaya. The head of state expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to those affected by the fire that occurred in one of the hotels at the Kartalkaya ski resort in Bolu.

On January 22, state flags in Turkey and at its foreign missions will be flown at half-mast.
