In particular, "cloud" data centers will be launched next year in the Bukhara, Fergana, and Tashkent regions. To support startups, artificial intelligence laboratories will be opened at the Tashkent University of Information Technologies and Inha University. Three thousand employees from government agencies, as well as khokims and their deputies, will undergo training in this field.
Authorities have been tasked with increasing the number of artificial intelligence projects to 100 and the volume of software products and services to 50 million dollars.
It has been noted that next year, "Uzbektelecom" must fully digitize its management system, reduce expenses, implement principles of environmental, social, and corporate governance, and achieve an international rating.
According to plans, next year, a service for issuing goods from electronic marketplaces will be implemented in 1,600 postal branches within the "Uzbekiston Pochtasi" system. A digital sorting center will be opened, which will enhance the quality of processing such goods and postal shipments. To achieve these goals, funds from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will be attracted.
An important foundation for the industry will be the newly revised law "On Telecommunications." Based on this, a two-year digitalization program will be developed across all sectors and regions.
Specifically, next year, it is planned to build 6,000 new base stations. Thirty thousand kilometers of fiber optic cables will be laid, increasing service coverage to 98 percent. Measures will be taken to raise the export volume in the sector to 1.2 billion dollars.
During the presentation, directives were given to create legislative foundations in the field of artificial intelligence and to develop education in the area of digital technologies.
