Uzbekistan aims to increase poultry production to 1 million tons.

В Узбекистане намерены увеличить производство мяса птицы до 1 миллиона тонн.

This year, it is noted that the production volumes of poultry meat are planned to reach 1 million tons, while egg production is set to reach 10.5 billion pieces. The export is expected to double, reaching 180 million dollars.

In livestock farming, there are plans to implement 1,350 projects, produce 3.2 million tons of meat, and obtain over 13 million tons of milk, with 30 percent of it being processed industrially.

The presentation discussed proposals to achieve the set targets.

In particular, the country has started organizing first-order breeding work for meat-type poultry. Together with foreign companies, this experience is planned to be extended to egg production as well.

Successful examples of cooperation in poultry farming can be found in the Andijan, Namangan, Samarkand, and Khorezm regions. This not only provides income to the population but also allows industry enterprises to function successfully. For instance, the “Yetti Hazina” enterprise in the Kushrabatsky district supplies vaccinated birds, cages, and feed to families, and subsequently purchases the produced eggs.

It has been noted that similar projects need to be organized across the country to increase production and create jobs. For these purposes, 50 million dollars will be allocated.

Instructions have also been given for the financial recovery and improvement of poultry enterprises that have temporarily ceased operations or are functioning at reduced capacities.

Another significant source of the population's well-being is pastures. However, nearly half of them are not being utilized. The reasons include the underdevelopment of pasture plant seed production, insufficient water bodies and wells, as well as the lack of a digital accounting system and rental framework for such areas.

In this regard, it is proposed to transfer the management of pastures to the Committee for Veterinary and Livestock Development. An electronic map called “E-yaylov” will be created, which will include all the plots. It will clearly indicate which areas are designated for livestock farming, crops, or geological exploration projects.

In seven regions, where the largest pastures are concentrated, it is planned to create pasture farms that, similar to forestry enterprises, will be responsible for the preservation and effective use of these lands. The lands within such farms will be rented to the population for 30 years through auctions for livestock farming and the cultivation of pistachio and almond trees.

The head of state has approved these initiatives and issued instructions to prevent the degradation of pastures, create additional wells, and develop seed production for pasture plants.

This year, a pilot project will be launched for the organized grazing of 1 million sheep over an area of 500 thousand hectares of pastures.
