It was noted that this year, the aim is to employ 5.2 million citizens and lift 1.5 million people out of poverty. For the first time, 60 districts and cities will be designated as areas free from poverty and unemployment.
In collaboration with local bankers, there are plans to ensure continuous employment for 1.5 million individuals and engage over 2 million citizens in business activities. To achieve this, a total of 120 trillion sums will be allocated for small business projects by 2025.
Based on advanced foreign experience, new approaches to poverty reduction will be implemented across 32 areas. Specifically, solar power plants with a total capacity of 107 megawatts will be constructed in 300 challenging neighborhoods, where members of low-income families will be hired for operations based on cooperation.
In 123 districts, low-income citizens will be offered jobs related to the creation of forest and nursery lands on 20,000 hectares, as well as the cultivation of medicinal plants. For every 100 trees planted, they will receive a subsidy of 375,000 sums.
In areas with tourism potential, guest houses and food service points are planned to be established, and at several post offices, e-commerce centers will be set up, providing job opportunities for representatives of low-income families.
In total, by 2025, projects utilizing new approaches will be implemented in 6,472 neighborhoods, which will help lift 210,000 people out of poverty.
Particular attention will be given to remote villages with especially challenging conditions. In these areas, the Association of Neighborhoods of Uzbekistan will take measures to foster a spirit of entrepreneurship, reduce dependency attitudes, and support the labor activities of low-income families.
The head of state reiterated that 2025 will be a decisive year in the fight against unemployment and poverty and tasked officials to ensure a systematic and targeted approach to implementing the proposed initiatives.
The Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction has been instructed to closely monitor the execution of these tasks. Each initiative and event will be entered into an electronic platform for subsequent verification of the created jobs based on tax records.
The importance of organizing training for local government employees and the "neighborhood seven," as well as promoting best practices, was also emphasized.
