In Uzbekistan, plans are in place to employ 5.2 million people by 2025.

Measures aimed at ensuring employment and increasing incomes in local communities with the involvement of banks were reported to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the press service of the head of state informs.

It is noted that the relevant directive was issued during a video conference meeting on December 16 of last year. Based on this, a total of 5.2 million people are planned to be employed by 2025, with over 3 million of them benefiting from bank support.

In this context, the hokims of 208 districts and cities, along with bank leaders, signed cooperation agreements to ensure employment and increase the income of the population, which outline the rights and responsibilities of both parties.

Specifically, each local community has established target indicators. As part of the "Mahalla Loyihasi" program, aimed at ensuring employment, $1 billion in credit resources has been allocated between banks and regions. District bank heads have been assigned monthly performance targets for project development, loan issuance, and employment facilitation.

The Chairman of the Central Bank and his deputies will visit the regions to establish the operations of bank branches in local communities based on a new approach.
