A race is being held as part of the Uzbekistan Championship in road running among the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies, where participants compete both individually and as teams. The second stage of the competition will take place in May, ahead of a significant and important date - Memorial Day.
This year, the Men G’olib Run is being organized for the first time by the Central Asian Academy of Walking and Running, with the Uzbekistan Athletics Federation as a co-organizer, and AO "Uzbekneftegaz" as the general partner. Among the state agencies involved in the organization are: the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Olympic Committee, the Youth Affairs Agency, and the Hokimiyat of Tashkent city.
Approximately 1500 runners started from the Yangi O’zbekiston park, competing in distances of 3 km and 10 km. Over 800 applications were received for the 10 km distance, indicating a growing popularity of running in recent years. Preparing for long distances requires time, effort, and attention to physical and harmonious development, and is one of the steps towards instilling healthy habits among the young and active generation.
In the patriotic race for the Men G’olib Cup in the team competition, 7 teams from law enforcement agencies and 6 teams from military educational institutions competed. Among them were teams from the Ministry of Defense, the State Security Service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the National Guard, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the State Customs Committee. The teams from educational institutions included cadets from the Academy of Armed Forces, the University of Public Security, the Ministry of Internal Affairs Academy, the Emergency Situations Academy, the State Security Service Academy, and the State Customs Committee Institute.
To support the team spirit of their employees, the leadership of the law enforcement and military agencies of the Republic of Uzbekistan attended: Deputy Minister of Defense – Major General Hamdam Karsiyev, First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations – Colonel Sanjar Zupayev, and Deputy Commander of the National Guard of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sarvar Mamayusupov. The opening ceremony of the competition also featured Adham Ikramov, Minister of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Oibek Kasimov, General Secretary of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan.
“It is a great honor to stand shoulder to shoulder with the true patriots of Uzbekistan, who guard the peace and well-being of our country day and night,” noted Adham Ikramov at the opening of the event. “The Men G’olib Run is one of the opportunities to express gratitude for the honorable service of all employees of law enforcement agencies, military institutions, their families, and young cadets and graduates of military universities who have chosen the difficult path of serving for the good of the Motherland.”
Families of military personnel and representatives of law enforcement agencies, including children from both older and younger generations, joined the 3 km Men G’olib Run to celebrate the holiday of patriots.
The total prize fund for the Men G’olib Run exceeded 76 million sums. Participants were awarded in the categories: overall competition among men and women in 3 km and 10 km, team competition among male and female cadets, and team competition among law enforcement agencies among men and women.
