This law regulates relationships related to food security.
It encompasses the provision of safe nutrition for the population through food products with nutritional value, the establishment of effective market mechanisms, and the production of food products and raw materials.
The Cabinet of Ministers ensures the implementation of a unified state policy in the area of food security and determines operational measures to ensure food security in the event of food shortages in Uzbekistan.
The Ministry of Agriculture is the authorized state body responsible for food security.
The aim of state support in the field of food security is to meet the population's needs for essential socially significant food products through the production of local food products and raw materials.
Food consumption norms are reviewed every three years based on demographic, social, and economic indicators of the country.
The law will come into effect six months after its official publication, reports the Ministry of Justice.
